WE FIND complete relaxation when we relax from all thought of stress and strain. We cannot be tense in mind, nerve, and muscle when there are no tense thoughts in mind. We relax readily and easily when thoughts producing tension are no longer entertained.
If you are tense, find out what thoughts are causing the tension? Correct your thinking and drop from mind any thought that makes you tense. Cease to resist the actions of other persons. No longer feel belligerent toward life in general. Cease to be antagonized by what others say. No longer feel that God’s help will be delayed or thwarted. Do not expect evil to come to pass.
The tense person shows very plainly that he does not trust God. He shows that he believes that the working of evil will become manifest in his affairs. He is tense because his trust in God has not been quickened to the point where he can rest secure in the assurance that all is well.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside still waters. PSALMS 23:2.
